In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto

Post  darin on Mon Nov 30, 2009 1:59 pm

Instead of suckling to the "Zone", "Palio", "Caveman", "whatever" diet teat try feeding you minds on the "foods" you put into your bodies. Seeing that Santa Clause will be making a visit at the end of the month add it to your list or just go buy it. If you can't afford it that's no excuse given WNY's extensive library system.

Great book. It offers numerous examples of why this Country's eating habits are the way they are. Such as, the word "imitation" no longer has to be written on any packaging thanks to the food lobbyists in the 80's. That's why you get whipped topping (i.e. corn syrup) instead of whipped cream and Miracle whip instead of mayonnaise.
